We Real Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks
We Real Cool
The Pool Players. Seven at the Golden Shovel. We real cool. We Left School. We Lurk late. We Strike straight. We Sing Sin. We Thin gin. We Jazz June. We Die soon.
Honestly, I absolutely love this poem. One of my favourite qualities of how Gwendolyn Brooks preforms this poem is how she captures the attitude that these people might have. I love how she came to understand what these people might do.
