The United Nations Rights of the Child

Compare the following video and the reading we have done in class on The United Nations Right of the Child (pg 109). In your opinion, what are the most important rights of a child?

Do some investigating on these rights and whether or not they are being upheld in various parts of the world, including North America.

  1. i think that he is totally right about black people and white people living together, i mean. so what someone is black or white? are we really that self-centered to realize that we share this planet? if i were to turn black, would you treat me different, if not then why edo we judge people of other races, because we don't get to know them. you'd treat me the same because you might know me, right? right? RIGHT????

  2. It is so unfair that we kids in North America have so much to share, yet we think we don't have enough, but these kids in Africa and India have practically nothing, and they think they have everything in the world. They're so satisfied, and the kids in North America have way more than them, but we think we have nothing. It's an nissue of the mind. The kids that live in developting countries haven't been introduced to the things we have, so they think they have everything. My favourite child right is that every child should have a right to education and to learnto grow up in peace.

  3. The video had more examples of child rights then the book. It also had rare happy parts in all the bad parts.

  4. I think that every person in the world should be able to have the right to not be teased or forced into slavery because of age, gender, race or religion

  5. It is so sad that some children aren't respected enough to have rights. Everyone should see this video. Governments, presidents, and everday people. That sould probrably make them help.

  6. The Un clip was very sad.It made me cry! I believe that children do deserve all the things that were said in the movie. I remember all the times I said I was starving and now I regret it.
