  1. The UN Actually made a mistake that would make people happy but angry at the same time. The UN thought that at least 1 billion people were hungry but only (not really ONLY because this number is still a lot)870 million. I rejoiced when I heard this but I wondered Is this one of the many mistakes the UN could make?

  4. The government is going to beef up laws for animal cruelty. I'm glad that they are protecting animals because they should have rights to.

  5. We found the story of the 14 year old Taliban girl who was shot for her believes for education rights for girls. We feel it was creul and unnecessary for the government to do such action. This story reminds us of the book "The Bread Winner" It reminds us of it because it is the same situation where girls don't have rights.

  6. I can't believe a person would try to kill another person so that they can't get girls to have any education. I hope the Girl survives and continues to work on her goal. I also hope that she attains her goal.

  8. I think it`s kind of cool how she fought for education at any cost. I would think that she`d know the consequences were and yet she kept on going. I think that she was really brave.

  10. When I found the article, I wasn't too shocked, until the end. Well, I WAS shocked at the unjustice of it all, at how they had assainated an innocent girl trying to give girls the right to education, but it was the last paragraph, short as it was, to shock me.

'The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsability, saying that if she didn't die they would attck her again, because she was encouraging girls to adopt Western norms.'

Three things shocked me about this.
A)The Taliban admitted to being behind the shooting, even if most knew. I thought this showed that they thought what they did was just and right.
B)They said they would shoot her AGAIN. After all the media fuss they started, you'd THINK they'd be smart enough to lay low, at least for a while. But I guess a military that shoots fourteen year old girls aren't very smart at all.
C)And lastly, they said they would do it because she was encouraging Western norms. Well, the West is one of the most succsessful and powerful areas in the world (Canada and U.S.A) so wouldn't you assume they would want to be simmaler to us?

And connection to Breadwinner, the girls are both upset with their current situation without education. But one did something about it.

  12. I find this girl brave. Not only was she brave, she inspires other people not to get shot but to not give in and fight for their rights.

  13. As the hunger of the planet is slowly decreasing many groups have been helping including the UN. The UN has admitted to over-setimating the hunger rate. There corrective measures suited to the high over estimated hunger rate now provides more and more. The hunger rate now is decreasing quicker rather than slower and is now correcting many places throughout the world. With this mistake, it actually is a rare example of a mistake that helps! Hunger throughout the nations are now fufilled. Over the past two decades the speeding hunger rate. Therefore the UN and all other places helping are doing a great job. Kudos!

  14. The girl from the Breadwinner and the article about the girl that got shot are connected beacause in both story the right to the woman and girls have been striped away by the Taliban, they both don't have education for the girls
