Read Any Good Books Lately?

This summer I read several interesting books. Among my favourites is Allan Wolf's New Found Land which presents the exciting adventure of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

Two hundred years ago, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark launched their boats up the Missouri River in search of the illusive Northwest Passage. Using poetic verse, Wolf tells the story of this voyage through the eyes of the participants. This self-named Corps of Discovery consists of a one-eyed French First Nations fiddler, Clark's African American slave, a Shoshone woman who gives birth en route, Lewis' Newfoundland dog named Oolum and many more. The experiences of this diverse crew are explored and their sacrifices and accomplishments are quite extraordinary.

New Found Land is highly recommended for readers with an appreciation for history, adventure and a nontraditional approach to the narrative form.

  9. i would love if someone read the Kane Chronicles series. It's about Ancient Egypt and Magic, it thought me so much about the Gods Of Egypt with a very interesting storyline of the Present. The series currently has two books, The Red Pyramid and The Throne Of Fire

  14. I suggest the series WARRIORS, by Erin Hunter. It's about a cat named Rusty that goes on a long way from a soft house pet life to a fierce clan warrior. On his way from house pet to clan warrior he must face some tough things, such as harsh weather, enemies, and most of all, battles. Where his loyalty to his clan will be judged by the clan deputy,Tigerclaw, a warrior who very hostile towards Rusty. Will Rusty stand a chance of being an official clan warrior?Or were the cats who doubted Rusty the second he set a paw into the clan's hunting grounds right? Once a kittypet, always a kittypet? To find out and read more about Rusty's adventures, borrow the book from the library!! :)

  16. I would recommend a book called William Wallace and all That by Allan Burnett it is about a man named William Wallace who is trying to lead the scots to freedom from the english king. At the end it is pretty much all gore but it is good because it has some facts and some nonsense
